How To Install An American Standard Cadet Bathtub
The American Standard Cadet bathtub is a 32 inch deep whirlpool tub with built in formed back rest and armrest with elbow supports. The depth of this tub allows for a thorough water submersion, giving an at home spa experience. When you order American fixtures, they are shipped to your local retailer for pick up or can be shipped to your door for an additional charge.
The American Standard Cadet Bathtub Whirlpool model comes completely assembled with the pump, motor and system piping already in place. American fixtures not included are:

Tools you will need to complete the installation of your American Standard Cadet bathtub:
1.) Tape Measure
2.) Pipe Wrench
3.) Slip Joint Pliers
4.) Screw Driver
5.) Woodworking Tools-saw, hammer, chisel, drill and bits, other electrical power tools of your choice
6.) Protective eye-wear and safety Equipment
7.) Caulking Gun

Do-it- yourself Installation instructions
Begin by: Reading these instructions completely before starting the installation.
1. Assemble your equipment and tools
2. Uncrate your American Standard Cadet bathtub and check for appropriate American fixtures. Make sure the unit is free from defect. Report any damage to the vendor.
3. Protect the unit from any damage during construction by covering.
4. Water test the unit for any leaks.
5. Do not make any alterations to the whirlpool system. Do not handle the whirlpool by the pump, motor or piping system to avoid damage.
6. Enclosure possibilities may require additional framing. Be sure to locate wall studs for attaching any framing to.
7. Ensure rough in dimensions are correct, plumb and square.
8. Provide for an access opening for the pump and controls. An Additional opening for access to drain pipes is recommended.
9. Place the whirlpool into the opening and level it. Use shimming as necessary.
10. Mark the wall studs with the final position of your American Standard bathtub.
11. Remove the whirlpool and securely attach the 2x4 stringer to the studs with screws. The top of the stringer should touch the line on the wall studs.
12. Install the American fixture drain components according to manufacturer’s instructions.
13. Before repositioning your American Standard Cadet whirlpool for final placement, be certain an opening has been made in the subfloor for the drain to exit.
14. Replace the whirlpool and reshim to level. Shim along the entire length of the support feet. Secure the shims using waterproof adhesive mortar or similar material.
15. A licensed electrician should perform all electrical work to meet applicable building and electrical codes
16. Test drain lines by connecting whirlpool drain to waste line. Securely tighten all drain pipe joints. Hand tighten pump couplings. Fill whirlpool with water two inches above the highest jet. Check all pipe connections for leaks. If leaks are found retighten connection and check again.
17. With whirlpool connected to electricity; turn your American Standard Cadet Whirlpool on. Check for any leaks while whirlpool is running.
18. If whirlpool is free from leaks you are now ready to enclose your tub with your desired enclosure design. A design professional may be utilized for this task if you would like assistance.
